HEALTH TRAINING PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR
Offaly Local Development Company is currently recruiting for a Health
Training Programme Co-ordinator. Programmes to be delivered include
MenPower; an evidenced based interagency programme managed by and
funded by the National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP) and SICAP.
The programme was developed in response to men who are in
?distress? and aims to transform the lives of the men by
supporting them to build their mental and physical fitness, while
developing their ability to engage with local services, set goals and
develop a life plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
* Delivery of health based training programmes which focus on mental
wellbeing and resilience building, life planning and physical fitness.
This will include engaging with external agencies to recruit,
signpost, support participants and manage the recruitment and
assessment of participants.
* Engaging external facilitators to provide specialist
workshops/information sessions
* Supporting and administering the continued development of the
Interagency Advisory Group of the MenPower programme.
* Maintaining appropriate records and reporting as necessary to
support performance monitoring, funding and evaluation of all training
programmes
* Working as part of an integrated team within the Company in a
flexible and responsive way and developing innovative initiatives to
support client progression
QUALIFICATIONS
* Third level qualification in Carer Guidance and Counselling, Career
Coaching, Adult Education, Training, Human Resources, Community/Rural
Development or other relevant disciplines desirable
* At a minimum Further Education or Professional Development
qualifications in the above fields is essential.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Minimum 2 years working with people in a group setting
* Experience of managing interagency programmes and competent in
report writing
* Have an empathy and understanding of barriers facing disadvantaged
and marginalised individuals
* Have an ability to inspire and motivate individuals to achieve
their desired goals and outcomes
* Be highly motivated towards successful outcomes for the individual
using innovation, initiative and drive to overcome barriers and
obstacles and create positive, sustainable opportunities
* Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills
